Colloquium of the Platform Biodiversity: Bats in the city – our nocturnal co-inhabitants

The lecture is about urban bats and why some species are more successful in cities than others. Furthermore the lecture will deal with the human-animal-nature-relationships in cities, with the question why an understanding of this is important to create a peaceful coexistence between humans and animals in cities.

If the weather permits, we will take a walk through Bolzano with bat detectors after the lecture. Those who are interested in this nocturnal bat exploration tour can download the following app on their smart/iPhone in advance:

Dr. Tanja Straka has been a research associate at TU Berlin since 2019 and works on bats in cities and on human-animal-nature relationships in urban spaces.

The Colloquium takes place on April 13th 2022, at the Museum for Natural Science (via Bottai 1, Bolzano). Due to current Covid measures, only 34 people can attend in person. We therefore ask for registration. Admission is free. Info: Tel. 0471 412964

The presentation will be held in German language.

The presentation can be watched also online on YouTube (link will follow).
