What do we survey?

What do we survey?

Within our research sites we survey a selection of plant and animal groups and also assess additional variables, such as soil parameters, land use variables and the structure of the surrounding landscapes. The groups we chose are excellent indicators for reflecting the changes in their environment. Our focus groups encompass vascular plants, bryophytes, lichens, birds, bats, grasshoppers and butterflies. Additionally, we collect data from many other arthropod groups such as beetles, bugs and spiders. For aquatic habitats, we focus on the larvae of mayflies, caddisflies and stoneflies.
