We continuously report our results on different districts or municipalities of South Tyrol in local media. Some of these articles can be found in “Press“. Scientific publications on our results can be found under “Publications“. Likewise, we have produced general results documents. These can be found here:

  • Landscape diversity: the central factor for biodiversity (Italian | German)
  • Review of the first survey season with first results (Italian | German)

Results of the single monitoring sites

This interactive map represents an intuitive interface for viewing the information collected at each site by our researchers.

At each site, information about the habitat type, the year of sampling and a small selection of photos are displayed. Soon, it will also be possible to call up lists of individual species.

A pop-up window for each biodiversity monitoring survey site displays the land use category, the survey year and in some cases a short site description. In addition, for several species groups the number of species surveyed is displayed.

If the letters “n/a” appear instead of an exact numerical value, the determination of the species group has not yet been completed.

At the bottom right, by clicking on the photo icon (if present) you can view a selection of photographs taken at each site.

If you prefer to view only some of our studied habitats, you can apply a filter in the top right pane and select sites according to different habitat types.

Taxonomic data and all of the complete soil parameters we measure are available in our database. Those interested in requesting specific data can contact us at biodiversity@eurac.edu

We will soon be enhancing the map with additional features and making our database metadata available.
