Colloquium of the Platform Biodiversity: Orchard meadow: Jewel of biodiversity

Orchard meadows are a remarkable form of agriculture. Researchers from Eurac Research 2021 have studied how the biodiversity of intensive orchards differs from that in scattered orchards. The preliminary results of different animal and plant groups, as well as the mapping of orchard meadows in South Tyrol are presented.

Elia Guariento is an entomologist and works at the Institute for Alpine Environment of Eurac Research.

Alexander Schönafinger is a student at the University of Innsbruck and is currently working on his master’s thesis on the mapping of orchard meadows in South Tyrol.

The colloquium will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, at the Museum of Nature South Tyrol. Admission is free. Online booking is required:
