ONLINE Colloquium of the Platform Biodiversity: Biodiversity Monitoring South Tyrol, Review of the first two survey seasons

The Colloquium will take place on January 13th at 6pm ONLINE.

On the initiative of the South Tyrolean government, Eurac Research started the Biodiversity Monitoring South Tyrol in 2019, in collaboration with the Museum of Nature of South Tyrol and the Department of Nature of the Province of South Tyrol. Over a period of 5 years, 320 areas distributed in South Tyrol will be studied, which comprise a large part of our habitat diversity (agricultural areas, forests, wetlands and alpine sites). Next to basic research, the monitoring is also intended to provide the scientific basis for political decisions on spatial planning, agriculture and nature conservation.

The speaker, Andreas Hilpold, works at the Institute for Alpine Environment, Eurac Research and is coordinator of the Biodiversity Monitoring South Tyrol. The lecture will be supported by other members of the project team.
